About Global Governance Watch

“Promoting Transparency, Accountability, and National Sovereignty”

 Global Governance Watch (GGW) is a joint project of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies. Its goal is to raise awareness of the growing global governance movement and to address issues of transparency and accountability at the United Nations, in NGOs, and related international organizations. In particular, the project monitors issues of national sovereignty and the ways in which the agendas of international organizations influence domestic politics.

GGW focuses on four thematic pillar areas:

1. Development - monitoring international organizations that conduct development work and the strategies they employ;

2. Global Regulation - assessing the impact of international regulatory establishments on health policy, intellectual property rights, and corporate social responsibility;

3. Human Security - assessing human rights proponents and related global efforts to promote a secure world free from "want" and "fear;" and

4. National Security - exploring the ways in which international organizations have become increasingly involved in national defense policy.

Each of the pillars are broken down into focus areas that provide details about specific aspects of global governance. The website also catalogues legal texts, articles, organizations, and commentaries related to global governance and provides visitors with the tools needed to understand them. Finally, the website highlights recent developments that pertain to each pillar and provides information about upcoming GGW events.
