Unions Set Priorities for the World Trade Organization Negotiations

In 2005, the Global Unions Group, the World Confederation of Labor, and the European Trade Union Confederation produced a 56-paragraph statement detailing their major concerns with trade issues of the sixth World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference. This position paper mainly decries what they see as the ?havoc wreaked by trade liberalization in many sectors? and the ?blow to employment generation and sustainable development.?
